Bros improve to 2-0, Mongos fall to 0-2
A beautiful Sunday morning at College Point field saw the defending champion Bros continue to assert their dominance and improve to 2-0 on the season, taking a great ball game over the Mongos 6-0. Bros started John Petry, who improved to 2-0 on the season, keeping the Mongos offense to just a few hits, lowering his league leading ERA to a paltry 1.40. The Mongos countered with Eric Dunetz (0-1), who pitched really well and had some good defense behind him.
Most of the Bros offense came in the second inning, as they took a 4-0 lead. The Mongos couldn’t muster much off Petry, and only had 1 runner reach 3rd base all afternoon. Joey Farco had 2 of the 3 Mongos hits on the afternoon. The Bros had 4 players notch a multi-hit game, led by pitcher John Petry who went 2 for 3 and drove in 2 runs to boot.
For the Mongos, Anthony Prisco made his 2023 relief debut and pitched a scoreless inning. Rob Petry threw 2 scoreless innings to close out the game for the Bros.
